Name: Chris Baber
Occupation:
Chef / presenter
I have always had a passion for food and cooking as long as I can remember, some of my earliest memories are in the kitchen helping my mum to cook. I began sharing my recipes on Instagram as a hobby, then entered and won BBC Yes Chef following the show I moved to London and trained in a Michelin Star Restaurant which was the beginning of my professional career in food, I did this whilst still growing my social profile, my real passion is to inspire people to cook from scratch so I left the restaurant to focus on sharing my message and recipes using social media and TV.
What you want to be remembered for?
Inspiring people to cook from scratch, making a positive impact on lives giving people a healthy relationship with food and confidence in the kitchen. Using my profile in the most positive helping others and giving back, always staying true to my self and having fun along the way.
Most commonly asked question in relation to your job?
How do I stay in shape and eat all of the food I post on social media !
If you could change 1 thing about the industry you’re in?
To eliminate All of the myths that surround being able to stay in shape and enjoy food, I see so many crazy diet plans and marketing that can lead to confusion, cost money and could also be incorrect. I think my back to basics approach of cooking from scratch and enjoying everything in moderation is the way forward.
Special Talent (party trick)?
I’m not bad at the worm and (like to think) I’m half decent on the dance floor
